Heaven

  1. Someday

    Dear Mom,

Your house on earth is empty and bare. Your “things” you owned on earth are divided up, shallow reminders of your life with us. There will be no more dinners around the table or laughter in those halls. You’ve gone to a new home, not my sister Eileen’s home, your own real home in heaven with Jesus. Someday, Mom, we will join you. It won’t be long. After all, that’s our real home too and we are looking forward to seeing you and seeing Jesus face to face. We are getting tired but like you we are going to persevere until we have become everything God has called us to be. We miss you very much but it won’t be long and we will be coming home too.

Someday, Mom, we (those who have accepted Jesus as their Savior and Lord) will walk on those streets of gold and talk with Jesus face to face,
Where there will be no tears or sorrow, heartache or pain,
    No cold feet or hands,
    No disease or discomfort,
    No parting and harsh words,
    No misunderstandings
    No goodbyes,
    No loneliness,

On that God appointed day, God’s heart will beat with joy and angels will be scurrying with excitement. It will be the day when we arrive home.

On that special day we will be carried home to heaven by:
    • A chariot like Elijah
    • Escorted by an angel
    • Escorted by the sweet spirit of God through the tunnel called death into the glorious light of His presence
    • Or met by Jesus Himself who will take us (his precious ones) to heaven
    • Or not die but at the twinkling of an eye instantly meet Jesus in the air (1 Thess. 4:16,17)

That planet Heaven will be so bright and big! Like the tabernacle and temple, there will be three parts to planet Heaven. Outside the beautiful New Jerusalem (described in Revelation as being about the size of the United States) will be beautiful areas full of trees, mountains, rivers, lakes, flowers, and animals. All of the creation of heaven will sing and praise the Lord. No colors on earth can describe it. No sounds on earth can compare! No sweet odors can compare with the fragrance of heaven!

The heavenly “capital” of heaven ─ the New Jerusalem ─ will be surrounded by twelve gates on which are written the twelve tribes of Israel (Rev. 21:12) Those gates are made of pearls. On the twelve foundations of the city are written the twelve apostles. Each foundation is made of precious stones (Rev. 21:19-20). The river of life will be seen in the city coming from the very center of heaven from the throne. The tree of life will be beside this river and will yield 12 fruits ─ a different one every month! The leaves of the trees will be for the healing of the nations.

Perhaps we ─ God’s precious ones, his jewels ─ will eat of this tree on our way to the throne! But as heavenly gates are open to us, we will hear the sound of silver trumpets and shofars blowing. Voices will be shouting and praising! We will be coming home! Dad will be waiting, handsome maybe looking like 25 or 30 years old again. You, Mom, beautiful with dark hair and sparkling eyes full of joy and love, will be dressed in white and looking better than any wedding day. Sylvia, my sister, will be there, beaming, bouncing up and down in excitement! Karl, my sister Eileen’s oldest son, muscular and strong, will be beaming with a boyish grin. He will will look like he is in his 20’s or 30’s. He will be waiting too. Grandma and Grandpa will be there shining with love with arms wide open. We will see our reflection on those golden streets transparent as glass, as clear as a mirror.

Within that heavenly city will be a heavenly temple. There will be heavenly libraries and access to all knowledge better than the internet. I will be able to learn stories of my great grandparents and stories of Bible characters that never got into the Bible. Mysteries will be unfolded but we won’t get proud but daily washed in waves and waves of His love, mercy, and grace!

  2. Someday continued….

There will be great orchestras and I will be able to participate because there you learn quickly (I think I will play a harp!). There will be great conventions and great outbursts of worship that will go for days on end and we won’t have to go home or even go to the bathroom or even get hungry! That worship will sound like mighty thunderings and like great waves of the ocean it will wash us into greater realms of His glory!

Jesus will be waiting with arms wide open. He will shine like the Sun and glow with the radiance of thousands of stars. His hair will be white like snow, and His eyes like a flame of intense and holy passion. Oh, His eyes will be like pools of mercy and truth burning with the fire of His intense love! His love will penetrate every part of our beings. His feet will be like fine brass as He will judge all mankind with perfect justice. His voice will sound like many waters. We will be drawn to Him and kneel before Him. He will embrace us and in that moment, it will be worth it all. My greatest friend, my passionate Bridegroom will love me like I am the only one and yet He will love us all! I will worship at His feet. All that pain, all that sorrow, persecution, stress, and trouble gone and nothing but pure delight and endless bliss! Oh, the praise and worship as the saints and angels flow in unending adoration of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords!

Oh, that sea of glass before the throne of God where saints dance in worship before the Almighty! We will see those living creatures talked about in Revelation. One will look like a lion, one will look like an eagle, one will look like an ox, and one will look like a man. We will see seraphims called the burning ones and cherubim like in the book of Ezekiel that have four faces on one creature, one side looking like a lion, one looking like a eagle, ox , and a man! They will move with wheels and glorify the Lord! We will see astounding giants, some huge with giant wings, others without wings, warrior angels, protection angels, worshiping angels, and guardian angels and together with all the saints, we will be worshiping and worshiping the Lord into higher and higher realms of Glory!

We will see, hear, and talk with the saints of all ages! We will talk to Paul, Moses, Elijah, Peter, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of Jesus, Deborah, and Esther! We will see great revivalists like Smith Wigglesworth, and John G. Lake, Evan Roberts, and Jonathan Edwards! We will see the great with the small! My, will we have a time listening to their astounding stories!

The throne will be high above everything else in heaven. But there will be no difficulty climbing its heights. Our feet will be like hind’s (deer’s) feet or maybe we will just float up. I’ve always wanted to fly! In heaven, we will! The intensity of the fire of that throne will be so bright and so glorious! We will have new eyes and we will behold Him ─ the glorious Father, God Almighty! He will be very big, and so awesome, and yet so kind, and loving! Daniel 7 pictures both the Ancient of Days and the Son of Man. We will see God Almighty (who has a spirit body) and we will see Jesus! We will see the Holy Spirit!

Jesus will give us heavenly rewards. Some will get the CROWN OF LIFE, the lover’s crown for those who faithfully endured trials. Jesus told me that you Mom will help Sylvia get things ready for the wedding supper of the bride. What a wonderful assignment! You will be strong, capable, and beautiful shining with the light of heaven and Jesus’ love.

We will be joining you shortly. It won’t be long. Jesus will be coming for his bride and you and Dad will meet us! So, dear ones, remember HIS GREAT LOVE when days get difficult and the nights long and simply tell Jesus you love Him! Be strong and hold His hand! Someday, things will be brighter and we will be at home in heaven with JESUS IF you have let Him make a home in your heart. IT WILL BE WORTH IT ALL!

    Love,
    Your daughter, Edith
